3 Things You Can Do Today to Improve Your Sex Life

You know what’s universal? As in, common to literally everyone? Well, when it comes to our sexuality, the answer is: absolutely nothing. That said, there are 3 things all of us can do – at any time – that will improve our sex lives.

#1: Address Your Stress

If you thought I was going to say “turn your unfinished basement into a sex den”, well, I hate to disappoint you but that’ll be another list for another day.

No, our first recommendation is to take an inventory of the stressors in your life and your approach to managing them. While stress is a natural part of the human experience, it also happens to be the arch enemy of good sex. When we’re anxious or preoccupied or overwhelmed, it can be difficult to lean into pleasure. This cuts us off from maximum satisfaction, and that’s just not sexy.

#2: Prioritize Your Sexual Self

What does that mean? It means, take some quiet, private time, and get to know yourself sexually. What do you like? What turns you on? Maybe you think you’re already pretty well acquainted with your desires. If so, what could turn up the heat? Erotica? Fantasy? Porn? Toys? Give this the thought it deserves.

#3: Strengthen Your Communication Skills

Whether you’re in a committed relationship or prefer having a variety of sexual partners, communication is a gateway to great sex. But so many people – due to a variety of factors such as cultural and societal messages – have such a challenging time talking about sex with other people. We get it but trust us – expressing your preferences about what you want (and just as importantly, what you don’t want) – can open up entirely new and super-hot possibilities.
