Holy Monday takes place on Monday of Holy Week, occurring the day after Palm Sunday, and six days before Easter. In Eastern Christianity it is the third day of the Holy Week, coming after Lazarus Saturday and Palm Sunday, but in Western Christianity, it is the second day of Holy Week. In the Biblical account of the week, a few things are mentioned as having happened on the day, such as the cursing of the fig tree, the cleansing of the temple the questioning of Jesus’ authority, and the telling of some parables.
